16º Piano Youth Experience
Masterclass for Children and Teenagers

The Hotel Alixares in Granada is hosting the fifteenth edition of the Piano Youth Experience. This children’s and youth course is aimed at young beginners in the early stages of learning, as well as teenagers who seek greater motivation and discipline in their piano studies.

The goal is to offer a rewarding musical and life experience, fueled not only by instrument lessons but also by a variety of fascinating workshops for both students and their families, whose involvement will be essential.

To achieve our objective with the greatest success, we place great importance on the musical and human environment in which the Piano Youth Experience takes place.

Very young students of different ages, nationalities, and levels live this intense week of training in a community setting. In this way, they exchange ideas, share concerns, attend lessons, auditions, study rooms, and enjoy special moments of leisure filled with camaraderie.

Additionally, since the Piano Youth Experience is an extension of Leonel Morales and Friends and takes place alongside it, there will be countless musical encounters outside the classroom. Our students will be inspired by seasoned pianists and will have the opportunity to explore new, stimulating, and valuable environments for their growth. Access to the prestigious María Herrero International Piano Competition and daily concerts by invited artists with great professional potential will be among these opportunities.

This, the Piano Youth Experience becomes holistic, encompassing the education of our children as a whole, with interconnected parts that lead to greater balance, fulfillment, and happiness.

“It is a great pleasure for me that this course is taking a new direction under the General Direction of Moni and Leo de María as Artistic Director. I predict a resounding success, with very young pianists from different nationalities attending to exchange knowledge with other schools. It is a unique course, and its creation was much needed to help our “future musicians” from an early age.

Our children gain experience. They live in a community, sharing practice pianos with professional and award-winning students from all over the world who participate in the Masterclass Leonel Morales & Friends, which takes place simultaneously. There is no better role model for them! They admire the “older pianists,” feeling highly motivated in their daily studies.

They learn to value effort and how important it is to give a good lesson, with the opportunity to be selected by the Masters and perform in the concerts held every night in various venues in Granada during the Piano Festival.

The parents accompanying them share very emotional moments. We see that our children are true sponges, absorbing and integrating the teachings with great enthusiasm.”

MARÍA HERRERO

“I am very excited to be part of this fifteenth edition of the Piano Youth Experience. Unlike other piano courses, it offers a holistic experience of incalculable value for young generations, encouraging them to foster increasing motivation in their daily lives as young pianists.”

MONI HERREROS

“It is a pride and a great pleasure for me to take the artistic direction of this course, as it was through it that I fell in love with the piano. I began my musical studies thanks to this event, and for this reason, as director, I feel completely committed to continuing what was, for me at that time, an unforgettable experience…”

LEO DE MARÍA

“The experiences lived in musical performance courses, at certain ages, can truly mark a before and after in the way one approaches the instrument. I remember feeling inspired by my teachers when I was young. Thanks to the love they conveyed to me for music, I was able to understand the dedication and study that the piano requires, and for this reason, I believe this course is of great importance.”

JAVIER HERREROS

“This gathering was created with special love and affection for my two children, as it was through it that they both started their journey in music. I am happy with the new direction, the innovations it includes, and I highly recommend it to any young talent who wants to discover the possibilities the piano holds.”
