The 15th contains many features and new activities!
The fifteenth edition of the Piano Youth Experience includes many new features that we hope you will enjoy.
We believe that a student’s receptiveness to learning depends on several interconnected factors, and it is our intention to take care of each one of them. Our goal is for young and small talents to develop in the most satisfying way possible during the week of Piano Youth Experience.
PERSONALIZED ATTENTION
As a new feature and understanding that each student has their own personality and learning pace, we have come to the following conclusion: although the total time of the Masterclass is 3 hours (not including workshops), we have decided not to divide them into 60-minute sessions, as is commonly done in other courses.
Depending on the age and needs of each student, the class time will be determined by the teacher to achieve the best results. We have divided the students into 3 levels: Beginner, Elementary, and Intermediate.
It is most common for younger students to need less class time but more continuity. The opposite is true for older students, but as mentioned before, we will adapt to each student and circumstance.

MOTIVATION
Every musician has experienced the desire to play like a peer. This feeling is one of admiration and the desire for personal improvement. When guided by an adult, this emotion becomes something extremely positive, a source of motivation. During this intense week of the course, our students will share their piano and their experiences, feeding off each other in a community. The interpretation workshops with Leonel Morales and Javier Herreros, great piano masters and educators, will inspire the students.
SHARED EXPERIENCE
Sharing, debating, contrasting, and resolving doubts are some of the key elements to work on at the Piano Youth Experience. Families will also share their concerns, and we will spend time together in the workshops “The Piano and my Future” and “Stage Presence.” Our goal is to break the barrier of individuality by fostering a sense of community.
ATMOSPHERE
We place great importance on ensuring that students feel comfortable and at ease to give their best. As you know, the Piano Youth Experience is connected to the Leonel Morales and Friends International Festival, as well as the María Herrero International Piano Competition, meaning students will be immersed in an entirely musical environment (with some leisure moments and lots of laughter). They will have access to daily concerts featuring different guest artists, the first rounds of the María Herrero competition, and of course, the Interpretation Workshops with Leonel Morales and Javier Herreros. We will work in synergy to create the ideal environment, making the Piano Youth Experience truly immersive.
GOAL AND CLOSING CONCERT
At the Piano Youth Experience, we believe it is necessary to gather students and families for a final concert on the last day, coinciding with the closing ceremony and the awarding of diplomas. Our young artists will debut at the Atarfe Auditorium, a top-level concert hall, putting into practice everything they have learned. This is an added incentive to make the most of the training we offer, with the aim of ensuring students take away an unforgettable experience.
